Automatic Overload Protection
When transmitted torque exceeds the preset value, the safety coupling automatically disengages through its ball-and-pocket mechanism. This instantly interrupts power transmission, protecting motors, gearboxes, shafts, and other critical components from damage. Once the overload condition is removed, the coupling can be reset for continued operation.
Misalignment Compensation (STL Series)
The STL Series (Disk Coupling Attached Type) incorporates flexible plate springs that compensate for angular, parallel, and axial shaft misalignment while maintaining high torsional rigidity and precise torque transmission.
Easy Torque Adjustment

Operating Principle
The STL / STL-F Safety Coupling operates using a precision ball-and-pocket disengagement mechanism. Under normal operating conditions, torque is transmitted smoothly through the coupling. If torque exceeds the preset disengagement value, the steel balls move out of their V-shaped pockets, causing the coupling to enter an idle state and mechanically disconnect the drive system. This rapid response protects machinery from overload damage while reducing costly downtime.
Additional Sensor Integration
For enhanced machine safety and automation, the STL / STL-F Series can be equipped with an optional proximity sensor or limit switch. These sensors detect the disengagement position of the ball guide, allowing automatic motor shutdown or system alarms immediately after overload occurs.
