San Francisco Wedding Photographer – Great Place for Engagement Portraits!
Without a doubt, the San Francisco Bay Area is one of the most beautiful and desirable places in the world! Brides and grooms are ‘spoiled’ when it comes to choosing the perfect location for their engagement portrait! We have some of the most stunning natural and man-made beauty in the world in the bay. From sweeping views of united airlines wedding dress policy in downtown San Francisco to the lush vineyards of Sonoma and Napa, the San Francisco Bay Area offers world-class packages in wedding and engagement photography. One of the great things about being a wedding photographer in San Francisco is that I can photograph couples in all kinds of breathtaking natural beauty. I thought this would be a great place to show you what I’m about with it all, so let’s get started!
You are engaged!
Once you’re engaged, one of your to-do items will likely be finding a great wedding photographer. One of the best and most exciting parts of wedding photography is taking engagement portraits! It was great fun for the couple and the wedding photographer to spend an afternoon together in a relaxed atmosphere without stress or time pressure. One of the greatest benefits of having an engagement portrait is that it gives you the opportunity to get to know your wedding photographer – most couples who shoot engagement portraits are more relaxed when they take photos on their wedding day because they already know how their photographer is working, They feel more comfortable. It’s hard to get a picture of someone you’ve never met! Most of the great wedding photographers I know usually have engagement sessions as part of their wedding arrangements.
So you’re engaged and you’ve found that amazing wedding photographer – but how and where to shoot? ! In my experience, it’s important to go to places that mean something to you, places that evoke emotions and feelings between the two of you – may be the first walk along the beach, or the first kiss The place, where the proposal was made, where “I love you” was said for the first time, or where the two of you most enjoyed being alone together. There are so many special places to take your engagement photos! Here are some of my favorites…
Golden Gate Bridge in Baker Beach
Some of the most spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge can be seen from Baker Beach. It’s like a postcard with Marin Heads visible to the east, plus Baker Beach’s rugged cliffs, clean sand, and turquoise waves of the Pacific Ocean. I love shooting here.
Golden Gate Bridge at Crissy Field
Taking an engagement portrait from Crissy Field offers a different perspective than Baker Beach. Located on the bay south of the Golden Gate, Crissy Field offers stunning views of some Marin County and San Francisco landmarks, including the Palace of Fine Arts.
Sutro bath
Sutro Baths offer a very rustic feel with beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean, Farallon Islands, and the famous Cliff House.
Palace of Fine Arts
The Palace of Fine Arts is unique in that it offers a sophisticated and rustic look full of San Francisco’s character and art history. This is indeed a fantastic location – grand and splendid.
Palace of the Legion of Honor
The Palace of the Legion of Honor is one of San Francisco’s most famous landmarks, offering breathtaking views of the city, the Pacific Ocean, and the many beautiful sites within the palace. The Palace of the Legion of Honor is one of my favorite places to take engagement portraits.
Golden Gate Park
Acres of Golden Gate Park – 1017 acres of beautiful, lush park for world-class engagement portraits! I have photographed many couples here. There are many places in the park to take great photos. Some of my favorite places are the Botanical Gardens, Japanese Tea Garden, Kennedy Avenue, Flower Greenhouse, and Lake Stowe.
potrero hill
For those who appreciate sweeping views of the city, Potrero Hill is a fantastic location – especially on a clear day. Mount Potrero has one of the best microclimates in San Francisco, and views of the city are usually not blocked by fog.
