If you are thinking of lawn maintenance Fort Lupton CO, it is definitely a good choice because it has several benefits. Unlike what its name may suggest, a french drain is not any fancy device. It is just a gravel ditch fitted with an embedded pipe, and it diverts the water away from one’s home. Just like gutters collect rainwater as it runs off your roof, a french drain helps in directing water on the ground. For example, sometimes you can notice a spot in your yard where puddles of water gather after heavy rain. A french drain helps in resolving such issues. Here, we shall look at few mistakes which you must avoid with your french drain.
Overlooking the direction of the water flow:
It is important that you assess the flood-prone areas of your yard. When you are planning the french drain, you will need to determine the general direction for the flow of the water. Make sure that the water is flowing in the right direction i.e., away from your house.
Skipping the drainpipe:
Some homeowners often fail or ignore to install the drainpipe in their french drain installation Fort Lupton CO.In such cases, the drain is not going to be able to handle heavy water flow. The very idea of a french drain is to direct pooling surface water wherever you want it to go, but without drainpipes, it might not be very effective.
Misdirecting the pipe holes:
Sometimes homeowners can point the holes in the pipe sideways. Generally, this is done because they want the water to filter away from their house as far as possible. The holes of the pipe instead need to face down, because you need to keep the water level in the french drain as low as possible. This can only be achieved when you point the pipe drain holes down.
